So I've decided to be my own dr. , not gonna rely on another human for my health care needs. I've been looked at and treated as if I have mental problems and the end result still untreated and denied tests I need. Now I've started to experience bone loss in my skull to a point that there is noticeable deformity. . The pressure in my head and neck leave me unable to function . My thyroid is swollen on one side and its hard to turn my kneck that direction. My vision is getting worse fast. But i still cant get diagnosis or treatment. So im becoming my own dr. Anyone , I need a address or website I can order thyroid med, blood tests, t3? And whatever else I can sample till I find the right potion. Better then nothing. Cant just go on ignoring it lIke my drs have. If you get on u tube and type in pulsating neck veins you can see one of my issues that is new but happens all the time for hours at a time

Get Blue Horizon Blood test the 11 might be best. Have a look, do the test and publish on here for advice.

I'm sorry you feel so ill. Make sure the blood tests include Active B12 and folate. Do you have autoimmune thyroid disease? You need to find that out too.

Ask your doctor to refer you to an Endocrinologist and see what he/she says as they should palpate your neck and until you get a proper diagnosis self-treatment wouldn't be recommended.

Say to GP that you've had advice from the NHS Choices for dysfunctions of the thyroid gland, Thyroiduk.org.uk and they recommend a full thyroid function test (the lab could refuse but ask anyway).

The test should be at the very earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water) and if you were taking thyroid hormones you'd allow a gap of 24 hours between hormones and the test and take afterwards.

The lab may not do all of these but the GP should certainly do TSH, T4 and T4 and thyroid antibodies, B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate. Also ask for Free T4 and Free T3. You can get those done privately if they don't do them.

Always get copies of your results with the ranges. Ranges are important as labs differ and it makes it easier to comment.

Post them on the forum for comments. We are entiled by Law to have copies of our tests for our own records.
