Just wondered if anyone can answer this. If you are hypo and Free T3 is good - top of the range, or somewhere handy to it; is it possible to have a minus TSH - below zero, I mean? Apologies if this is a daft question, but you know how it is; one mulls things over...

Not in reality, but if some TSH tests have a zero standard that really isn't zero, then a patient's sample with a TSH lower than the "zero standard" will show negative.

Although if zero isn't really zero, how negative can one be, I wonder?

It depends how low the assay registers. I've had <0.0001 and <0.001 both described as undetectable.

I rather like the sound of that, Clutter - 'undetectable', that is :-) I have that experience with my own doctor: his knowledge is quite undetectable ;-)
