I recently had thyroid surgery. My t3 an ad T4 levels are fine but my TAB levels are high. Why?

So you have any blood test result. If you post them on here. Someone could let you know what they mean. And they will probably want to also know what type surgery you had.

Do you mean thyroid antibodies are high? If so, and, if they were high prior to surgery, it means you have autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's). It is possible that the surgery caused thyroid peroxidase or thyroglobulin to leak into the blood and the antibodies are a response to this. If you had a complete thyroidectomy the antibodies will usually subside after 5-6 months.

TAB levels... I think you must be referring to one of the varieties of thyroid antibodies but it isn't clear which ones.

Have you had your thyroid removed completely? If you have then, if you had any of the antibodies associated with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, they will eventually disappear.

But I think that any antibodies associated with Graves' Disease are not destroyed even after the thyroid is removed and they may go on to attack other organs e.g. the eyes.
