Do you have recent blood results with ranges and a bit more detail of how you are unwell? If you post those members may then be able to offer some ideas.

Blessedgoddess As well as thyroid test results, have you had the following tested

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

Most of us Hypos are low in these nutrients and without optimal levels thyroid hormone can't work. If tested and deficiencies shown, we can suggest supplements to bring them up to optimal levels.

For thyroid tests, ideally we need

TSH

FT4

FT3

Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies

Thyroglobulin antibodies

"And tsh 25.890"

Why aren't you taking thyroid meds?

"My vitamin D was 8.0"

What's the unit of measurement - nmol/L or ng/ml

And what are the numbers for the different categories, ie Deficiency, Insufficiency, Adequate, etc.

Tsh 25.890 uiu/ml

Vitamin b12 264 pg/ml

Vitamin d njl 8.0 ng/ml

Blessedgoddess,

B12 264 is in the gray area. If you have symptoms listed in b12deficiency.info/signs-an... you may need to supplement B12. healthunlocked.com/pasoc are the experts on B12 deficiency.

VitD 8ng/ml is severely deficient. Optimal is 40-50ng/ml. See how much your GP advises supplementing. If it is less than 50,000iu D3 per week come back here for advice.

If you are prescribed Levothyroxine and D3 you must be sure to take them 4 hours apart otherwise D3 will reduce Levothyroxine absorption.

I don't understand 'diagnosed at 14 haven't been on meds in 3 years' WHY ? If your hypothyroid you should be taking something, either levothyroxine, t3 or NDT. Your going to feel ill if you don't take anything. How old are you now and why did you stop taking thyroxine ?

Well I'm a single mom of six... I can't get Medicaid.... And my job don't offer benefits.... I have four kids with adhd.and one with high blood pressure and kidneys... So I'm on and off work.... I'm trying to get help with my medical

Sorry I don't understand - 'can't get medicaid' ?

Sounds like you have your hands full, so you really need to feel well to cope. Why are you not taking levothyroxine. Its a free prescription

Kitti1, I think blessedgoddess might be in the US.

The Vit D and B12 have different units of measurement than we normally see here in the UK.

Arh right yeah good point 👍 Der didn't think of that. Then that's awful that she's not taking thyroxine because she can't afford it. Our docs might not know what they are doing but we should be thank full for small mercies.

Yeah, the NHS might be falling apart the seams but we do have some things to be thankful for.
