Latest endo visit - T4 and T3

Hello all,

For those who don't know, I battled for a while to get endo to prescribe T3 alongside my T4, which they very reluctantly agreed. Has been about a year and this week I went for a review with the endo.

I'm currently on 125 mgc of Levothyroxine and 15 mcg of Liothyronine.

My tests were;

fT3 6.2 (3.5 -6.5)

Free T4 18.2 (11.0 - 23.0)

TSH <0.05 (o.35 - 5.50)

Endo asked how I was feeling (great!), and said my blood results looked good and he was happy for me to staying on current dose.

I was a bit taken aback as I'd worked myself up to have another battle, but he was actually quite supportive.

To all those struggling to get well, please don't give up...arm yourself with knowledge (most of mine came from this incredible site) and be prepared to fight - difficult I know when you are not feeling good. It's our health and we have every right to expect treatment that supports us to get well, not just less sick.

Take care all : )

That''s great news. If you didn't get his name from TUK, email louse.roberts@thyroiduk.org.uk as we need a list of good Endos.

Thanks...I didn't originally send his name because he was actually really obstructive when I first mentioned T3, only since I have been on it has he softened.

It makes such a difference if you have a supportive endo, mine is too, there are a few around, long may they continue & hopefully spread the word.

Hi Frumpty that is such good news so glad you have got t3 and feeling so much better. Feel sure we have spoken on here together but can't find our posts to one another.

I've gone through a bad time again but coming out the other side now I'm trying to get a balance with thyroxine 75mcg then 100mcg alternating it.

Feeling better so see what happens ! Are you in the West Midlands? Be interested to know who your endo is.

All the best x
