Hi there,

I'm hoping I can get some advice regarding my latest blood results. Had some hypo symptoms coming back and got a scaly rash on my skin so assumed it was thyroid related but my results don't really suggest this...or am I missing something??

TSH: 0.40 (0.27-4.2)

T3: 5 (2.6-6)

T4: 22 (10-26)

vit D: 102 (50-150)

Ferritin: 40 (13-150)

hemoglobine 8.4 (7.3-9.8)

B12 374 (130-700)

I currently take 125mg of levothyroxine and would like to add that these are probably the "best" results I've had since being diagnosed 4.5 yrs ago...

Welcome to the forum, Stase49,

You appear to be optimally medicated as TSH is low-normal, FT4 in the upper quadrant and FT3 is in the upper range too.

VitD is optimal at 102.

Ferritin is optimal half way through range so you might want to supplement iron with 1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption and minimise constipation.

There can be deficiency with B12 <500. If you have symptoms b12deficiency.info/signs-an... go to healthunlocked.com/pasoc for advice.

Haemoglobin is in range.

Hi Clutter,

Thanks for your response. Yes I was happy most of the results results, my gp suggested to up my meds because my tsh was low....! I decided not to.

I'll up my iron and b12 and see if that helps. Do you think the dry skin and scalp can be a side effect of the Levo?

Dry scalp and skin are symptoms of hypothyroidism.

Do you always have the same brand of medication? Just wondering if it varies that you have taken something that you are allergic to. Each brand has a few fillers in it to bulk it up and keep it stable. If that's a case have a word with the pharmacist as your symptoms may sound familiar to him/her and there may suggest a different btrand to try. It's always as well if you are happy with a brand you ask to have that one put on your notes. If they aren't keen to do that then ask your doctor to name it on your prescription.

Thanks silver fox, actually they did change the brand a few months back as there was a shortage of the brand I was using. I'll look into that, thanks.

I'm considering trying Armour but not how to go about it or if it's even a good idea..but that's another post
