Cortisol(Saliva) Test.

Doctor’s (Blue Horizon Medical) Comments

The 9am salivary cortisol level, and the last level, are marginally elevated. Such small elevations are unlikely to be significant. Cortisol rises in response to stress, but it will also rise in those taking steroids (even as creams or asthma inhalers). Persistently and much higher cortisol levels may indicate underlying Cushing's disease, but further testing would be required to diagnose (or rule out) this condition. Repeat testing would be advisable to determine whether there are sustained or increasing elevations.
