Hi I’m looking for some feedback on my recent blood results please.

Test was done before 9am,and before meds, with last dose of levo 24 hrs before and last dose of lio 9.5 hrs before.

I currently take 100’g of levo and 20mg of lio(split into three doses throughout the day)

I actually can’t believe the difference in my results,I’m currently nearly three months into a probiotic I decided to try, that’s all I’ve done differently since my last results.

Any advice, will as always,be greatly appreciated.

How do you feel?

Free T4 (fT4) 21.5 pmol/L (12 - 22) 95.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 6.1 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 81.1%

Your results are a touch on the high side.

Vitamins look great. Well done and keep it up. 👍

That’s what I was thinking about the results too🥺I’m feeling pretty knackered if I’m honest, I can’t seem to get past 3/4 am then I’m wide awake,I was putting that down to peri menopause.

Tiredness can be due to over replacement. Out of interest which probiotic have you been trying and do you think its done anything?

You could try dropping 12.5mcgs Levo and retest in 6-8 weeks.

It’s called symprove,I’ve tried probiotics before but tbh I’ve never really done to well on them,as they’ve been tablets I think, this one is water based and I seem to be doing ok on it,I’m impressed by the difference in my results.

I only have 100mg tablets for my levo.

Could you ask GP to prescribe a smaller dose?

I'm not good at working out daily dosing schedules but 12.5mcgs a day drop would mean 87.5mcgs a week less.

I’d rather not contact the gp tbh,I’d rather they didn’t want to start doing bloods etc,I’ll drop 25mg levo and see how I go with that for now, thanks so much for all your advice and encouragement😁

Hi you,I’m feeling pretty knackered if I’m honest, can’t seem to get past 3/4am then I’m wide awake but I was putting that down to peri menopause,I can’t believe the difference in my results just by taking a probiotic🤷‍♀️

Well, I think I might drop 25mcg T4 - and see if that eases off these feelings -

Do you take all your T4 in the morning -

Do you think your last dose of T3 - is what is waking you up ?

PrincessAnnie profile image
PrincessAnnie in reply topennyannie

Yes I take all my levo in the morning, I’ve taken my last dose an night for a while now and it never used to bother me🤷‍♀️

Ok then - so maybe just drop some T4 as that should lessen both T3 an T4 readings a little and hopefully you'll feel more comfortable.

Do you have a pill cutter - as you could chop the 100 mcg into 2 and then halve again - to get 75 mcg -

or ask for 75 mcg + 25 mcg tablets to give you more flexibility and get a 12.50 mcg dose with 1 chop :

Yes I’ll try that,I have a pill cutter as I currently cut my lio,I’m not really wanting to contact the gps incase they want to start doing bloods etc, they’re happy enough to prescribe me what I get so,at this stage , really don’t want to do anything to jeopordise that🤞

OK then - yes I know that feeling and wanting to stay under the radar until you feel settled and know what you need and more able to advocate for yourself.

I would reduce Levo by 50mcg maximum PER WEEK

So 100mcg 5 days and 75mcg twice week

which brand of levothyroxine do you use

PrincessAnnie profile image
PrincessAnnie in reply toSlowDragon

Ok I’ll try that then, should I split the days with the 75mcg or just take that at the weekend?

Its the same brand I’ve always used,Accor I think it’s called, although this time they’ve gave me something else but I’ve only been taking that for a week,I’ll be keeping my eye on that!

I would split…..say Monday and Friday

Great,I was thinking of retesting in 8 weeks will that be ok?
