I am hyperthyroid and have graves disease. I also gained a lot of weight and felt absolutely horrendous . The good news is eventually you should start to feel a bit better but it's a long process . If you post your blood test results and their ranges , the numbers in the brackets then members will be able to give you some really good advice . I got diagnosed in may 2015 and I am not feeling too bad at the moment . I hope you start to feel better soon .

Yes you can, you are entitled to them, although your GP may charge!

I do hope you have had regular blood tests since June? And, I would think, that by now your Carbimazole dose has been lowered?

Hi , yes my first reading was 62 , I'm now down to 11 and I'm on 5 mg , I'm at hospital on Wednesday and have regular blood test, I have an enlarged thyroid which looks like a donut round my neck ( according to my kids ) , causing me swallowing problems . I feel better than I did , still have hot spells and aches and pains , but not like I did ,

Sorry, but what is now 11? You should have TSH, FT4 & FT3 tested although you may not get all three done. And if you put your test results up always put the ranges (numbers in brackets) as labs round the country differ.

I'm not sure , when I first had a blood test , consultant told me I was reading 62 which was very high , now I'm at 11 and he said that's normal , I got hosp on Wednesday so I'll ask for paper work , , my doctors are not very helpful with info ,

Even if you can ask them if you can write it down when they have your info up on the PC.

Sounds like it may be your FT4, as a TSH of 11 is definitely not normal! If it is it may be on the low side which means you may be experiencing hypo symptoms.

Think it is t3 and t4 I get tested for on regular basis , every 6 weeks but has now been moved to 12 weeks , what are the symptoms for under active please , I still have hot spells and am constantly tired, I'm in bed for 11 hrs , palpitations , although I am 100 percent better than I was ,

Hypo symptoms can be similar to hyper I have Graves, was over medicated with Carbimazole so became badly hypo, then went in to remission, now going hypo due to Hashimoto. The list below was what happened to me.

Fatigue that even 11hrs in bed doesn't alleviate-hypo

Tired but wired fatigue - hyper

Palpitations - both

Joint and muscle aches and pains - both

Depression - hypo

Anxiety - hyper

Constipation - hypo

Sweating profusely - hyper

Getting hot after eating/random times - both

Dry hair/skin/losing hair - hypo

Weight loss - hyper for me

Weight gain - hypo for me

There are a few others but cant think of them at present.
