Vitamin d, magnesium and vit k2

Hello

I am on a loading dose (vitd3 20000iu x3 a week for 10 weeks) for vit d deficiency (level of 25) and I understand that you may need to take k2 and magnesium with it. Does anyone know how much? I am going to order some but finding it a bit confusing!

Also, I have read somewhere that some people can't tolerate vit d. How would you know? I am feeling very unwell but then was before I started it. ( I have hashimotos and PA as well) .

Any help much appreciated 😊

Agapanthus1 You do need K2-MK7. Vit D aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs it to bones and teeth rather than arteries and soft tissues. The usual amount of K2-MK7 is 90-100mcg - example

amazon.co.uk/Jarrow-MK-7-90...

Magnesium varies, it depends on what form you choose and what the pack suggests as a serving

naturalnews.com/046401_magn...

My magnesium citrate powder is 350mg per serving amazon.co.uk/Natural-Calm-S...

I don't know any symptoms of intolerance, as I didn't have any problems. I find it best to take something with as few ingredients as possible to minimise any adverse effects from unwanted ingredients like fillers/excipients. My D3 softgel had two - Cholecalciferol and olive oil. Those Jarrow K2-MK7 are very similar.

Thank you so much for your advice, susie, it really helps. I find it all a bit confusing, plus I have proper brain fog at the minute! Much appreciated! Plus, i love your wee dog. 😊

Look at Vitamin D Wiki and then search for "Co-factors"

Anyone taking more than 2,000 IU per day should be taking co-factors, such as Vitamin K2, Magnesium, Zinc and Boron

Vitamin K2 helps direct the calcium in your body away from your arteries and into your bones. Search Wikipedia to learn more about how Magnesium and Zinc help so many chemical processes in your body.

Search YouTube for a talk by Dr Jorge Flechas about Boron

This is relevant for bone health. I take D3Plus from Bio-Tech Pharmacal which contains all of these co-factors, plus an extra 12 mg of Boron from Swanson and I have improved my bone health over the past 4 years from -2.4 to -1.4

Thank you, this is so helpful. I bought some of the co factors separately but this seems so much better.

Why do GPs not know this stuff?! And look at you like you are nuts when you mention it?! The more I experience conventional medicine, the more I find it hopeless.

Ps. Do you buy it from the states? How much do you pay? 😊

I buy D3Plus via Amazon UK or GreenVits

I buy the Swanson 6 mg Boron via Amazon UK
