Hi, I understand you cannot get NDT in the uk as its not licensed. My GP will not issue a private prescription or named patient she doesn't agree with it. Does anyone know if you can buy from abroad and if you can get the good brands? Please pm me if you can help. Many thanks.

FINDING NDT SOURCE
Dollyduck,
The following are available online:
USA brands: Armour, NatureThroid, WP and NP
Canadian brands: Erfa
Thai brands: Thyroid-S, Thiroyd and TR Tman.
A good brand of NDT is one that works for you. Price is no guide to quality. Many people do very well on the cheaper Thai brands.
DollyDuck I saw an NHS Endocrinologist last month, my GP referred me as I was feeling so unwell on 50mcg of Levothyroxine. Endo offered me NDT, Erfa Thyroid, which I am now happily taking. I had to collect my NHS prescription from the nearest large hospital. He was apologetic that he couldn't offer me T3.
I wonder if more NHS Endo's will start prescribing NDT on the NHS, as T3 is now too expensive? Thoughts anyone?
That is so interesting I thought it was rare for NDT to be prescribed by endos. Good luck to you and it's great you've found an endo that's listening. I can't get past my GP because my test is within arrange, even though my antibodies are sky high a& I feel unwell. I may go private & take my test results & see what they suggest. However from all the great info from here I know my options it's just being brave enough to try them without having a GP or endo's support. I will get there though.
