finally had an appointment with the Endo... All he said was i should start feeling better in a few weeks and that was it>>> All he did was ask for my symptoms .. I did find out that my T4 was a 4 and that was more than double the norm. I wasn't tested for t3... also what vitamins can i use for muscle pain.. i have noticed that the pain isn't there when i take a protein shake full of vitamins.. he didn't offer anything for the symptoms. i know i'm rambling but i'm pissed!!!!!!!

The first thing to to is ask for a copy of your test results. This is your right under the Data Protection Act 1998. Hospitals have record departments so you can Google them to contact them to make a request. They should have a protocol which explains how you get them. Once you have these start a new thread with the results AND ranges.

In future every time you are tested wait 5-7 days then ask the place who did the test admin/receptionist/secretary for your results and ranges. If they are not a NHS hospital they should give them to you within 5 days after checking with the clinician. If they are difficult mention that under the Data Protection Act 1998 you have a right to a copy of your results. If they still refuse to give you the numbers then you need to write a letter with the title Data Subject Access asking for it. After 40 days contact your MP in person or contact the Office of the Information Commissioner.

Yes you can be charged £10 each time for your results but if you ask within a week or so of the test it is normally free or a few pence for printing. In any case take a pen and notepad with you as some places will tell you the numbers and ranges.

Quite a few on here will know exactly how you are feeling! We fight our GPs to get to see an Endo, and then when the appointment for this God like being finally comes through, it raises our expectations of finally feeling human again. We are then treated like naughty children, or mad old bats and brushed out as a waste of space.

I am afraid it is up to us to find a way through the maze that is the thyroids revenge. It can be long and bumpy with hidden traps and U turns, but with the help of the wonderful people on here, most of us travel along the road to better health.

Just imagine the Endo with a huge goitre not able to move from his bed, crying "why wont anyone understand" in a little hoarse voice - I find this helps!

Hello Sweetpea8167,,,it seems like the endo,,,listened but did not understand,,and give you his full attention,,,they do not do t3 testing,,they don't work with this part,,,but if you have found by using the protein shake with vitamins helps you,,why not carry on,,you are feeling better for it,,then continue if you so wish,,,look after yourself to keep yourself in the best way you can,,,take care and keep up the good work you are doing for yourself,,,ttfn from karen.

Hi

Try 'Charlotte's Web ' CBD oil from Savage Cabbage. A bit expensive but can help with ailments.

Quite costly though.

lindabcampbell,

Please do not post in all capitals. It is considered by many to be shouting and may be taken the wrong way.
