Hello friends, my tsh level is 8.9, t3 level is 128 and t4 is 7.3 is it dangerous. If it's what should I do to control this.

Your TSH is very high and suggests that you are hypothyroid. Unfortunately the numbers for the T3 and T4 are quite different to what we would normally see in the UK. We definitely need to see the reference ranges to be able to see the numbers in context. We need to know whether the numbers are low, middle or high in range.

It is also important to know if the T3 and T4 numbers you are quoting are Total T3 and Total T4, or are they Free T3 and Free T4.

The Free T4 and Free T3 are the ones we need. The Total T3 and Total T4 are much less informative.

Hypothyroidism could be potentially dangerous, but you'd probably have to be untreated for many years, or possibly decades, before your life was threatened. Some doctors actually consider a TSH of 8.9 to be "normal". They only diagnose hypothyroidism when TSH is over 10 and Free T4 is under the reference range. That kind of treatment is sadistic, but sadly is common in several countries including the UK.

If you do get treated you will probably be treated with levothyroxine. This is an artificial hormone to replace what your thyroid is no longer able to produce. The treatment must be taken for life. (There are exceptions where intermittent breaks in treatment might be necessary if you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.)

The usual treatment plan is to be given 50mcg levothyroxine to take each day. After 6 weeks you should have blood tests to check your thyroid hormone levels. If you need more levo your dose should be raised by 25mcg per day. Then blood tests should be done in another 6 weeks. Then dose should be raised by another 25mcg if necessary, and keep going in that way until your thyroid hormone levels are acceptable and your symptoms have gone away.
