Maybe not right boards for this question but does anyone know where I can get this done in Northern Ireland? It is possible for me to purchase cream containing both estrogen and progesterone but I don't want to go down this route without being monitored.

You have to be careful about taking oestrogen. Age can come into it, if you are oestrogen dominant you obviously won't need it, if you have/had fibrocystic breasts or breast cancer. Good idea to get checked first which is what I did, all my sex hormones were rock bottom but in my circumstances my practioner recommended progesterone only bioidentical cream.
Look into getting a DUTCH test, dried urine test of comprehensive hormones. Google them - they have some great videos on their website that describes it. I went into surgical menopause due to uterine cancer and must be extremely careful about my hormones. It us by far the best test available, testing all the hormone metabolites. I've had other tests done, but they're not even close.
A doctor must order it for you. I paid US$350 which was well worth it. It comes in an envelope. You pee on each of 4 pieces of special paper over 24 hrs, tell them what hormones, you're taking, and pop it in the mail in a standard business envelope. Results take 3 weeks.

I'm 66 years old and have never used HRT until a couple of years ago when I had to use Vagifem (estrogen only) for repeated urinary tract infections and extreme soreness and dryness all the time. While Vagifem helps at the time the problems arise again as soon as I stop talking it. GP said it should not cause problems as it is pessary treatment only absorbed by the vaginal area where it is required. I'm not sure I trust what he said 100% and this is why I wanted to look into the bio identical hormone therapy. Hopefully will be able to get hormones tests and take it from there.
