Blue Horizon tests

I'm currently deliberating between +10 and +11. The only difference is vit d and as mine has always been "in range" I'm thinking of going for the cheaper one thus saving myself 20 quid! Does that sound sensible or should I stop being a tightwad?

Well, it depends where in the range your vit D is. Are you supplementing it? If so, surely you want to know where it is now. In range is not the same as optimal.

infomaniac If you are supplementing with D3, it's important to know that you stay around the recommended level (100-150). City Assays (an NHS hospital lab that offers home Vit D blood spot tests) recommends testing once or twice a year to prevent reaching toxicity level which they say is 220+.

If you are not supplementing then our level is usually lower in the winter due to lack of sunshine and supplementing would be helpful during the winter months.

What was your 'in range' result?

My last reading 7 months ago was "Vit D 137 nmo/L over 50 vit D sufficiency". I supplement with Solgar 1000 D3 every day and I also take K2. Does that sound OK?

I would say that is fine but as you're supplementing I would make a point of retesting once a year. City Assays charge £28 so slightly dearer if you don't include it with your BH test.
