Hello

Due to low B12 , Vit D, Folate I was recommended to supplement with B12 I have the spray and Vit D and vitamin K2. I keep getting like blisters on the inside of my lip or cheek could this be caused by the supplements? I was also wondering if I should be tested for Anemia

MIckeyrow Anyone can be affected by anything, we're all different and react differently. What you could do is stop all your supplements and let the ulcers heal. When everything is back to normal introduce one of your supplements and see what happens, take it on it's own for 2 weeks. If no reaction then stop that supplement and start another one, on it's own for two weeks, etc until you have tried all of them individually.

If you find that they are all fine then start with a combination of two, say B12 and D3, see if they are reacting together to cause the ulcers. If no reaction, drop one off and add a different one, say B12 and K2, until you've added them all to B12.

Then do it again with three supplements etc until you've tried them all on every combination. Time consuming but you will know one way or another.

By the way, are you taking a B Complex with your B12 to balance the B vits, one that contains methylfolate to help your folate level?

Also, when taking D3, magnesium is another co-factor we should take.

Thanks Seaside Suzie I take

1 K2 Doctors Best Mk-7,

1 Doctors Best D3 5000iu and

B12 spray from Holland and Barratt. I will look at getting B complex with methyl folate and look for a Magnesium supplement. It all feels like a great big puzzle with many missing pieces I value all your advice and help I would be totally lost without it. I am trying to get the vitamin supplements right before attempting taking any T3 to compensate for the non working Thyroxine , which I understand our B12 isn't working the t4 and t3 won't do I the job . IMy memory is absolutely shocking so apologies if you have had to repeat anything. Have a good evening.

Don't worry, there's a lot to take in :) . All Vits and mins need to be optimal and ferritin needs to be a minimum of 70 for thyroid hormone to work properly.

There are lots of different types and I understand that magnesium L threonate promotes mental sharpness and cognitive health and has high absorption. Other forms are shown here naturalnews.com/046401_magn... so you can see if any would be better than others for you.

I have had mouth ulcers for years. They were really quite bad and I usually had at least a couple. Then I took Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) and they got even worse. So did the eczema on my hands and the spots on my face which I'd had since puberty.

I persisted with the B12 because I just hoped for the best. In total I had problems for about three months. After about the first 5 or 6 weeks my eczema almost vanished. Then my spots cleared up and were better than they had been for as long as I could remember. Finally the mouth ulcers got better than they were before I started taking the B12.

The mouth ulcers didn't vanish entirely but they improved immensely.

I would grit your teeth and just hope for the best. How long you do that for though is entirely up to you. :)

Low b vitd can apparantly cause mouth ulcers. Maybe, taking b12 has made the other b vits go out of kilter..... Might be worth trying som vit b suppliments?

I had what looked like blood blisters in my mouth. They seem to have settled now, but my GP did refer me to dermatology at the hospital. By the time the appointment came through the blisters had gone! Typical!
