Pork Scratchings are not a good idea, Mandy, not if they're the ones you buy in little packets. They contain soy, and soy is very, very bad for hypos. It will stop your cells absorbing the T3.

Do you mean soy sauce? or Soya? Is there anything else that stops cells absorbing the T3? Thank you :)

Well, I don't think they put soy sauce on pork scratchings. :)

Soy and soya are the same thing. Soy sauce is made from soy/soya. All forms of unfermented soy are a bad thing. Soy sauce is supposed to be fermented but usually isn't. The soy they use in processed pork scratchings are unfermented soy, probably used as a bulking agent. I've heard rumours that KFC do the same thing to their chicken. And, it's difficult to find a loaf of bread in the UK that doesn't have soy flour in it. All this is very bad for hypos.

You've done excellently well considering you problems with meds.

To lose 1 1/2 stone is admirable.

how much is a stone?

I am dieting and have been since march I lost 7 pounds. It seems that weight loss is more difficult with hypothyroidism even if the labs are low ( good) .

Whats naff thyroid? Why is it so hard for us? SO many questions! Is our weight loss calorie based? I struggle so much with what to do. I don't mind trying everything but knowing what works is the key I think. Starving doesn't work. lol
