What dose of NDT are you on and how much t3. Do you take your ndt all togwther in am. And t3 in pm at what time.
I take 1 full tablet of NDT (1 grain) 1 5mg tab T3 a.m - 1/2 grain and 2 T3 3p.m 1.5 grains of NDT is my my sweet-spot (for me) and 15 mg T3 (daily total)
If I've been ill I adjust my T3 by raising 1 tablet until I get out of the lethargy stage and then lower when I'm back on track
2.5 grains per day 15 mg T3
a.m. 1 grain (1 tablet) 1 T3 - p.m 1/2 grain 2 T3
are you in the UK? If so, could you pm to tell me where you get the T3 and NDT from please?
Thanks!
Yes I'm in the Uk, how do I PM you I'm new to this site and still navigating my way around
You're so pretty ! So happy for you.
That's so sweet of you, thank you π
Yes I'm in the UK and new to this site, how do I PM you? Sorry newby π³
You look very well Thanks for posting inspiration!
Me too, Sylvj!
Sadly, not may hair, yet...

Is your hair still thin? And am I correct thinking you're taking NDT too?
My isn't thick and lustrous but it's not sparse and showing any patches any longer, it's so much better. Iron could be what you need too, this causes thinning hair. Floradix liquid is great because we absorb it better than tablet form. Always allow at least 1/2hrs after taking thyroid meds before you take your iron supplements though. I hope this helps?
I've only been taking an effective dose of NDT for about 7 months, so early days. The best thing for me is not being cold, which is amazing!
My hair's always been thin & very fine, but seems to be getting worse, aside from one mutant eyebrow hair & a few more lower eyelashes, so that's a start.
I take iron tablets, & eat iron rich vegetables & fruit, & leave at least 3 hours between my NDT & anything other than water.
Have you had a TT? We don't absorb iron (particularly from food) like people who have a fully functioning thyroid, so your supplements might not be helping you, which is why I suggested the liquid iron, which we do absorb more easily. NDT has to be started at a low dose and increased slowly until you become optimal(everyone is different) Try going onto the Stop the thyroid madness site, it's a mine of information about NDT. I hope this helps?
TT?
My iron levels are currently ok, thanks, but I'll bear Floradix in mind, if I don't sprout more hair soon.
I prefer to get nutrients from food, & my digestions been better since I incorporated kefir in to my diet. I usually only take a supplement on days that I think I've under eaten something, or eaten out.
I started with a quarter grain dose of NDT, & took the increments slowly, so it was a while before I reached 2 grains, & added 25mcg of T3 on top. It's been successful, aside from my experience with Thyro-Gold, which made me feel worse than when I'd started.
The STTM site is also great!

I too take ndt but I don't supplement with t3 (don't seem to need it as the ndt works). Yep it's great for those of us that can't use t4 only meds. It changed my life from existence to living!
I have di02 gene snp so need the t3!
Its such an individual condition and each and everyone of us needs different things, some people take as much as 3/5 grains and T3 whilst others don't need the extra T3. My sweet-spot is 1.5 grains 15g T3 because I don't convert T4 into T3 adequately to function. Glad to hear you're doing well
Hi Sylvj please pm me where you get your ndt
Hi, I buy mine from <an online source>, they run out of stock regularly, so be aware, I buy a few and freeze them down. The one I take is Thiroyd (spelt correctly) there's also 'Thyroid S' which is a confirmed tablet to take in the STTM book too. Hope this helps?

Hi, I am so glad that you have joined and posted your amazing success story! I am totally on board with dosing with NDT and T3. ( interestingly enough, I have been researching this exact subject a lot lately! ) I take NDT, and have for many years, but things just aren't quite right. I would like to begin incorporating T3 into my day along with my NDT. Could you please PM me and let me know where you get your T3?
Thanks a million, you look fabulous!
You look great! I have been taking NDT for about a year and have increased the amount but still do not feel at 'optimum' health. I would like to try incorporating t3. I wondered what size grains of NDT you take ie 30, 60,90 etc and what you took prior to starting combined NDT and t3? Thank you x
The only reason NDT doesn't work is because you've either not increased slowly and gradually or you've got iron dificiency or adrenal or adrenal problems. NDT is what our thyroid gives us naturally T1, T2, T3, T3 and calcitonin. I juggled my meds for about 9 mths until I achieved my optimal level. I take 1 grain am =60mg and 5mg T3 then 1/2 grain =30mg & 10mg T3 pm around 3 hope this helps
Thank you for your reply. You have given me a few things to consider that had not crossed my mind.
Sorry, after re read I appear to have repeated a few words π
It's never clear cut, all I will say is; if you address dose and how to increase, iron issues and adrenals (You won't feel the benefit of NDT if these are issues for you) just to re cap - T4 is a storage hormone which converts to T3 ( this gives us our energy) NDT gives you what your own thyroid naturally would - T1,T2,T3,T4 and calcitonin I hope you get things sorted
I am leaving the group after being rep remanded for trying to help. I hope you all stay well
I know this is a very old post but if you see this could you please email me the info on where I can get NDT and T3 please [ contact by private message if you wish to contact this member ] π
Not only is it very old, but the original poster is no longer a member. That is what a user name of Hidden and a greyed out avatar mean.
We also do not recommend posting personal email addresses - so I shall edit your response in a minute.
Finally, we very much prefer people who want to be told where to buy medicines to post their own, new post and explain their situation.
