Thyroid anti bodies 35 does that mean sub clinical and not hashimotos?

The endo said this means it's negative and thyroid is just underactive. Is this not degenerative then?

Misswinky34,

Do you have the lab ref range? In some areas 35 is positive but in my are >100 is positive.

If you don't have Hashimoto's thyroid is unlikely to degenerate but can still fail as you age.

No I didn't ask the ranges (Grrr) and I even wrote it on my hand. They just said antibody count was 35 so classed as negative.

I'm seeing them again In 2 weeks so will ask them then. They said I am slightly over medicated but they were happy with the tsh and free t4
