Nikki2975,

ESR is an inflammation marker. Yours is very slightly over range which may indicate inflammation somewhere in the body.

The rest of your full blood count and sex hormones appear to be within normal range.

Folate is below range. My GP prescribed 5mg folic acid for 4-6 weeks when my folate was deficient. Alternatively you can buy folic acid or methylfolate over the counter but at much lower doses.

Ferritin is optimal 75-100. Supplement iron and take each tablet with 500-1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption and minimise constipation. Take iron 4 hours away from thyroid meds.

B12 is optimal around 1,000. Supplement 2,000mcg methylcobalamin daily for 6-8 weeks then reduce to 1,000mcg daily. Take a B Complex to boost the other B vits.

I asked my doctor to check my hormones but i meant Progesterone, Estrogen etc not hormones for trying to conceive a baby so i'll be asking for them again when i go to my next appointment.

I'm already taking 5mg of Folic Acid and 200mg of Ferrous Sulphate as prescribed by my doctor. I don't know what the others (apart from vit c) are or how to get them as i'm guessing my doctor won't give me a prescription for them.

Nikki2975,

Methylcobalamin is vitamin B12 and B Complex is a B vit multi vit. They are available in pharmacies, healthstores and online. Your GP won't prescribe them because they are within range, only they aren't optimal.

I'll have a look for them thank you.

Will it be ok to take all of them together? As I said I have the Folic Acid, Ferrous Sulphate, Vit D, then the ones you mentioned and possibly ones for magnesium and Calcium and that's before I've checked my other vitamin levels. It's a shame you can't get them all in one.

Keep Iron and Calcium at least 4 hours away from thyroid meds. Your B12 is on the floor and needs to be MUCH higher - as mentioned by Clutter. What symptoms do you have ?

At the moment my symptoms are hair loss (close to full strands and in clumps), Muscle & Joint pain which i know can be down to low Magnesium or Vit D, Always feeling cold but that seems to have stopped now. i always feel warm but my skin is cold to touch, Tiredness & Fatigue, Insomnia, very irritated all the time and for the smallest and stupidest things, Dry and sometimes Pale skin, weight gain and trouble losing it. i've also noticed and i'm not sure if it's thyroid related but i find myself talking too quickly...it's like all the words want to come out of my mouth at once and i get them jumbled up and struggle to say them.

Adrenals maybe ? How are you treating your very LOW B12 ?

Please read the above link to learn everything you need to know about B12 and other deficiencies ..... check out the videos under the Heading FILMS and see just how important B12 is ....

My doctor said i was within range and obviously wouldn't prescribe anything so i haven't been doing anything to treat the B12 yet because i didn't know i needed too but i will be getting supplements for it asap.

According to the stress questionnaire on the link i have scored 49 (didn't know what to put for some) which makes me a candidate for burnout.

Maybe it will show up on my results from the ultrasound?
