Just to say keep making small changes for the best each day or week for those of your who feel pretty down with thyroid disease. You really can get well again. 😊

I agree, small steps mount up and lead you to feeling better. I suspect some people come on here and feel overwhelmed with all the information and don't take it any further due to tiredness, brain fog etc. All the tests and supplements and trying to convince your doctor sounds like a lot at first. It's not. And it's so worth it, Don't give up. Here's to better health and fuller lives
Absolutely true. We've been there. If you have to crawl again to walk, you do it.
Good picture, thanks!
I went to my local pain get together this morning, & was telling everyone how my FM symptoms have been reduced since I read up on information on this website, & started taking NDT.
It's so sad, & it makes me unbelievably mad, that doctors don't know how to diagnose thyroid disorders from a person's symptoms, & fob people off with a diagnosis of something incurable, & inappropriate medication!

Hi did you self medicate on NDT. I thinking of trying it next. Can you pm with which one is best to take. And how you start to take it after being on all levothyroxine.

Hi Kate,
I started self~medicating on WP Thyroid last year, my TSH is normal, despite a prolactinoma & many underactive thyroid symptoms.
Over 35 years of hypo symptoms were enough for anyone to live with. I've just had my first bearable winter in 40 years, being able to produce body heat is wonderful!
I started on 1/4 grain & increased every two weeks till I felt better, had a blip on Thyro-Gold for a month, & I'm now on 1 grain of WP & 25mcg of weak T3.
There are a lot of posts with advice on how best to swap, I'm sure I saw one earlier today. 1 grain of NDT is supposed to be the equivalent of 65mcgs of levo, so perhaps you could swap from one to the other gradually, if you're worried about a reaction to changing too quickly.
