No T3?

I'm been prescribed 10mcg T3 from my endo, but when I went to get my 2nd prescription, at least 3 pharmacists told me they haven't got it in and they can't get hold of it. Is this correct?

It could well be the case. It's not the first time it has happened with Amdipharm (Mercury Pharma). I don't know why patients aren't allowed to have a stock for these types of problems. They are the only licenced holders of T3.

There are other T3's which your doctor can prescribe on a 'named-patient' basis

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/treatm...

and your doctor might be willing. Mine wouldn't as they have to take on the responsibility on their own shoulders.

It will be an anxious time, yet again, for T3 users.

I use Sainsbury pharmacy, when I take my prescription in, they usually have 1 sealed bottle of the T3 and I have to go back in a couple of days for the rest... Where did you get it from last time?

I ordered a repeat prescription last Friday & when I went to pick t up this Tuesday was told sorry we can't get any phone us in a few days to see if it's in,luckily they gave me enough for 7 days & I have enough to last another week due to my dose being changed & me getting an extra prescription half way through the month. this happened to me before at a point when I was on only T3 ,I had to phone my oncologist to make an appointment so he then wrote script giving me enough to last until l had to do a withdrawal before the radio iodine scan,I took it to the hospital pharmacy to be told oh we might not have this arrhg ,I got them eventually,it's only an hour and a half drive to the hospital! I think I should order some privately to to make sure I have some.

I have just picked up my T3 from the small pharmacy next to the surgery.

There have been no supply problems in the 8months I have been taking it.

I live in the North east .

I'm in Scotland Pinkpeony,it might depend on who the pharmacy's supplier is,my pharmacy is actually in the doctors surgery as its a rural practice,it's even a 6 mile drive to there, major draw back of living in the middle of nowhere,I'll ring them on Monday as I'm really busy today cooking for hubs big birthday on Sunday ,I've got enough to see me through until then & luckily now I can source them privately if I'm really stuck, thanks to the good info on here, gives me some piece of mind as I'm only 3 weeks in to my new dose so I need continuity X
