Interesting. Potato makes the inside of my mouth swell - now I know why. It means I have to read labels very carefully as potato is not on the usual list of allergens. It's in most gluten free breads and flours.

Hi Anthea,

A lot of people have allergies to foods from the nightshade family: potato, tomato, & aubergine.

I'm not gluten free, but eat sourdough wholemeal or rye bread, as the yeast breaks down the gluten. I also avoid processed carbs such as white rice.

Thank you for posting this, as it happens back in December I gave up potatos/potato starch and my stomach had been feeling a lot better, my fibro pain had eased - I presumed it was because of my detoxes, but maybe not.
