Anyone knows which tests I should ask for if I have tremors and Hashimoto? Any idea on which type of deficiency can cause these tremors? I have been diagnosed with both Graves and Hashimoto.
I used to be on Propranolol but is that right that it cannot be taken if I am on Levothyroxin?
Thank you very much!!

Hi I have hashi also on ptopanalol I take mine 3 hrs after t4/t3. I also suffer Realy bad inner trembling don't know what causing it but last night it woke me out of my sleep the trembling was in my head an the only way I got it to stop was to put my teeth into toungue . Realy strange experience my pharmacist thinks it could be a side effect of tramadol as I've just started them a week past for pain . Hope you get some info from others what could help you 😊
I have inner trembling, not visible externally. I've experienced earth tremors, and when my self-generated ones first occurred (before diagnosis and when I was completely free of any meds for many years) I would touch wooden furniture to reassure myself that what I was experiencing was not another earth tremor!
A good description I've read for internal tremors is that one feels like a tuning fork. For me, it's usually in the thighs, but can be lower torso, too. If the tremors are visible, e.g. at fingertips, it may be due to being hyper, or essential tremor, for which you may have been prescribed the Propanolol.
Beta blockers don't look a a good idea for those with hypothyroidism, and the BNF says that Levo accelerates the metabolism of Propanolol.
I had inner tremors through my whole body , relentless , from my head to my toes, plus all the other symptoms of hashimotos . As most of you know on this site no help from GP s doctors or endos just passed over as neurotic . It has taken 19 years and self medicating with thyrogold ( NDT) to end the inner tremors plus the thudding heart and palpitations . I was taking thyroxine for a long time that was the only hormone doctors would prescribe , denied T3 denied NDT ( armour) ! The thyroxine made such a big difference I became 60/70% better but had no effect on the tremors or heart problems I had them so long it just became the norm for me but I decided to self medicate to see if NDT would help after reading about dr John Lowe and his NDT , as I said tremors gone no pounding heart beat no palpitations and none of the other symptoms have come back . I still have flare ups off and on because of the antibodies attacking my gland lasts a few days feeling unwell but I can put up with that . I would certainly recommend giving thyrogold a trial if anyone is not doing well on T4 .
