50-ish to 60-ish mcg of T3 is the range to look at.

Basis for recommendation:

Some sources state 1 grain of NDT is roughly equivalent to 25 mcg of T3.

1 grain of NDT contains about 38 mcg of T4 and 9 mcg of T3. Reckoning on the T4 being equivalent to a third of the amount as T3 means 1 grain is equivalent to 21.7 mcg of T3.

Because I feel horrible,

I've had this problem 17 years and last 7 years been on ndt from Levo hell, ndt made life a lot better and ndt was more manageable, however I've been put on hrt and felt very good first couple of weeks before oestrogen sabotaged ndt and I'm hypo again and ill, so I'm off hrt am not hanging around for ndt to get up even though I know it has t3, the t4 is a bit troublesome to me, so T3. For me for now. Only on it yesterday and the fluids are down this morning and pains are reduced.

Ok, I never really followed the argument for adding extra estrogen in the form of hrt...... I added progesterone until after menopuause, i now use a orogesterone estrogen mix..... Have a read of this site which explains it......wellsprings-health.com/page...

Have you had progestereone ond estrogen levels tested recently? What were the results?

You can switch straight over but I'd suggest to be slightly cautious and begin with one 25mcg of T3 as it is equal to around 100mcg of levo in some people. (75 to 100mcg) for a few days. I would take your pulse/temp before you begin so you can keep an eye on both for a little while when introducing it.

I take my dose once daily and I don't need a large dose (I need about 1 1/2 tablet (25mcg each tablet). This is also a link and the doctor's patients always took one dose of whatever they were on, i.e. NDT or T3 and he explains in this link the reason for one daily dose. He was also a scientist. He himself took 150mcg of T3 daily for Thyroid Hormone Resistance.

Excerpt:

And finally, why do I specify that the typical patient use one full dose of non-timed-release Cytomel for life? Because extensive testing has shown that this is safe, effective, and most economical—when used within the context of our entire protocol.

SBT, I have been wondering about that as I have just stopped taking 50 mcg Synthroid, and am now on 1 grain of Armour. You are just a wealth of information for me tonight! BTW, are you night owl like me? It is 9:30 PM (Wed) here. I figure it's roughly Thurs., 3:30 AM over there??? I live in the central time zone of USA.

Thanks, ~~Susan

Well... it's currently 10:51am in the UK and my last post above was made about 9 hours ago.

Yup, I'm a night owl, and often curse myself for it. Adrenal fatigue?

Good morning SmallBlueThing☕️☕️☕️☕️I can only sleep for 4 hours..... It's 4am Alberta Canada time.... I try and get an hour in during the day ..... Not sure if this is thyroid issues or not....... My mood is good on Cytomel ... 25 mcg twice a day but energy??? Not so good due to lack of sleep...

GET TO BED! Don't think you can trick Santa! :-)

CPAP machines have 4 hours as the target, so there must be some significance. While acknowledging the importance of the dream-state, I often find myself dismissing things in dreams, knowing that I'm dreaming. Maybe I, too, only allow myself about 4 hours' sleep, to avoid the hassle of weird dreams?

Hi Jobeth✨

What I learned from this site for my self is: 25mcg of Cytomel would be the equivalent of .075 to 100 mcg of Levothyroxine .......... So I take 50 mcg Cytomel.. So the equivalent of .15 mcg to .2 mcg Levothyroxine 🎄
