I hope this may be my last question before I see my Endo!
Does anyone have experience of hot flushes like having the menopause all over again when starting T3 ?
Also once one has taken T 3 for.a time will the TSH come within an acceptable range? I do hope so as perhaps then I may be able to get a bit of life back after my 8 years of misery!!

I sweat like a pig daily and find it highly embarrassing when my clothing becomes damp. Spoke to NHS Endo about this and his reply was "I'm not concerned". What a waste of space.
Hi CG, got this reply from Endo regarding sticky lumps after change of Levo. When asked what it was he replied that he didn't know and was not worried about it. Well he wouldn't be would he - it wasn't happening to him. Still happening to me and my son after five years. Really wish our problems on some Endos and Doctors until they really get what we have to put up with. Especially when medication has been so much better than now.
j_bee - have to agree with your comment re wishing our problems on them. I just don't know why some of them do the job they're doing, it makes my blood boil.
Must be so hard for you to see your son suffering.
Certainly unfair on him as he also suffers just about all hormonal problems, having hypopituitarism with septo-Optic dysplasia. Don't know how they get away with knowing so little yet still being paid for such a responsible job.
Poor chap, such a lot to put up with. I've never felt as disappointed with the medical profession as I do now.
I do hope that when the NHS is privatised some of these useless doctors will find themselves with no patients. There needs to be some serious raising of their game as patients will have expectations, as opposed to the "well, it's the NHS what do you expect" attitude.
Yes, he does have a lot to put up with, but I often feel that he has always had these problems so doesn't know any better, which is sad.
Can only think that if NHS is privatised then a lot of doctors will be out of work and only have themselves to blame, as who would go to some of the ones that we have encountered. They will certainkly not be recommended by any of us. Agree with you about being disappointed with NHS as it is nowadays.
Pig4u, T3 overmedication can cause overheating but you aren't overmedicated. I think it's likely to be your high TSH and low hormone which is causing flushes.
I have been too hot for the past few years..... Then i cut out carbohydrates earlier this year..... And the too hot stuff has all gone away. Maybe you could give it a try for a week? No bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, cakes sweets, pastry or cereal. It sounds hard but it is easy.
