Have noticed when I take my thyroxine in the morning my top lip seems to swell, not a lot but enough for me to notice it.Am now taking antihistamine, it goes away after a couple of hours.
Any advise?

Margjean, try another make of Levothyroxine next time your prescription is filled. There are three, Mercury Pharma 25, 50 & 100mcg, Actavis (aka Almus) 50 & 100mcg, and Wockhardt 25mcg.
There are only 2 here in Aus.and both are made by the same firm on different machines. One is $2 dearer than the other.I did ask the chemist and changed to the dearer one. Orixine. The other one is eutroxsig. Did try T3 only.Didnt like the effects. Have been having problems for the last 5 years.Had a scan a couple of months ago.Thyroid has shrunk.I know I was undermedicated. Feel good on 75 a day just the reaction to it when I first take it.Hope I can get a solution.
I wonder if I can get some from overseas.Am going to Endo on 29th.Will ask him
I am now taking Atenolol 25 morning and night for Afib.Dont like it.what else can I do.I know the Docs are fed up of me.Have changed Doc a couple of months ago. They are all at a loss as to what to do for me.I know it is my thyroid.I can't take Blood pressure medication, they are cause problems after a month of taking them.Have been on Valium but don't want to take it,zones me out.
Should be zonks me out
I will have a word with endo when I go.I am taking my thyroxine in 2 doses.6 am and 2 pm. Seems to be working. Just need to try and get one that doesn't give me side effects.
Marjean, one of the side effects of Atenolol is swelling in the face (that includes upper lip). So maybe explore this possibility.
I now have a runny nose as well.I am at a loss as to what to do.I just cannot take blood pressure medication. I also have emphysema, not helping me at all. Feel as though I am getting past my use by date.Help.
