Endo prescribing T3 in Berks / Oxon/ Hants/London

Dear All,

It is a very long time since I have posted. I was diagnosed in 2006 and my GP finally got down to treating me in 2009. In despair I saw Dr Peatfield and he advised me that I needed to take T3 as my experience with Armour showed that I could not use T4. This has all worked well until the place where I buy my T3 has changed the brand and I no longer feel that the medicine is working.

Combined with this, I am being treated for Complex Trauma due to a prolonged campaign of workplace bullying, and am taking 220mg of Venlafaxine, 120mg of antihistamine as I am allergic to the anti-depressant and 250mg of Narproxen for osteoarthritis in my hands.

I have noticed that my hypo symptoms have been gradually returning and realise that I need to find a NHS source of T3 as I am guessing my doses. I would be very grateful if anyone knows of an endo anywhere in the London / Berkshire / Oxon /Hants areas and could tell me, possibly by PM, as I realise that one cannot place names on the forum.

Organgrinder, I've edited your title to include London. You can edit your title and posts by clicking on the v down arrow underneath your post and clicking Edit. Click on the orange Edit Response button to submit your changes. I'll delete your other post.

Email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org.uk for a list of member recommended endos.

Have you checked thyroid levels recently? Thyroid function can deteriorate and you may need a higher dose. It's best to have a thyroid test to guide dosing than to guess. If your GP won't do FT3 tests you can order private thyroid tests from Blue Horizon and Genova via thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Sadly this entire area has banned any new prescriptions of T3
