Levo and NDT?

I am taking 150 micrograms Levo and still feeling hypo. GP won't increase though. I'm wondering if it's possible to take a small dose of NDT as well as the Levo? Does anyone do this and how have you got on?

It is possible to take both and many do. Do you have any recent results with ranges that may give us a little more information.... Are you converting the Levo into T3 ? How are your levels of Ferritin - Folate - Iron - B12 - VitD - they all need to OPTIMAL for a good conversion rate....

Looking back at your earlier post when you had lots of tests done - what were the results ? Easier if we have the full story....

Your B12 and folate could be higher and will affect the transportation of the T3 so addressing that might help you feel a bit better ;-)

GP says they're 'normal' 😒

But I have started to supplement B12 myself 😊

..normal is an opinion and NOT a result :-)

You could have a B12 level in the thousands and still not be ok, that's the level in your blood not the amount getting in to your cells so if your blood level is under 500 you're likely to feel it and could benefit from treatment - unfortunately this may be a battle with your Gp - there are quite a few different factors that could result in a low B12 such as vegetarian diet, some medications like anti acid pills etc as well as Pernicious Anemia so do a bit of research and see if you can identify with any of the symptoms or causes, if you decide to supplement or press your GP for treatment then make sure you take folic acid aswell ;-)

Yeah, I was on omepr azole long-term, but have now come off it & treated myself with betaine HCl. Will never go back on that **** again!

What amounts of folic acid should I be taking?

If you take a GOOD B Complex it will contain Folic Acid. FA helps B12 to remain in the body longer to work its magic - before you pee it out ! I take Thorne Research B Complex as it contains Methylfolate which is natural - rather than Folic Acid which is synthetic .... You may wish to research Methylfolate v Folic Acid for yourself before making a decision.....
