Hello,

Can someone please help me understand the following:

USS thyroid showed changes consistent with chronic thyroiditis

TPO antibodies were strongly positive at 958

TSH: 0.7

FT4: 22.1

FT3: 4.7

Vitamin D: 97

Thanks in advance! Completely lost :( x

I'm not sure of the context of that but this short video explains TPO antibodies.

24_1919, High TPO antibodies confirms autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). Your TSH is low and FT4 high and I think FT3 is reasonably good but can't be sure without seeing the lab ref range.

You appear to be adequately medicated but a dose increase, unless you feel overstimulated on your current dose, may suppress TSH which can be helpful in reducing Hashimoto flare ups and antibodies. Gluten-free diet may also help reduce flares and antibodies.

VitD 97 is in the optimally replete range 75-200.

24_1919, there's no need to be worried. How much has been prescribed, how much Levothyroxine are you taking and has your Levothyroxine dose been reduced?

24-1919, You can take the Liothyronine with your Levothyroxine. What dose Levothyroxine were you taking before it was reduced?

24_1919,

10mcg T3 is equivalent to 30mcg Levothyroxine but the extra stimulation of T4 to T3 should mean you will feel improvement. Ask for a dose increase if you don't after 6 weeks.

Not what you're looking for?
