I am so tired and brain fogged I don't even feel like I know what I'm doing, able to think clearly.
Brutally honest now, I have grown up with bad eating habits from childhood (wasn't enough money for parents to buy all of us food/themselves and my siblings, since school age). So now I am used to eating one meal a day at tea time. Every now and then I can do it, but, there's a block and I fall back into old habits of one meal a day.
My new tablets suggest for thyroid suggest I take them 30 mins before breakfast - which I don't have.
I guess I'm looking for 2 things here from you all, 1 the most important! A kick up the a..! (As I just can't do it) and 2 advice as I'm sleeping longer and longer.
Other medications include 20mg of Citerplan daily, and Vit D tablets 2 times a week. I'm 39. Thank you.

Don't beat yourself up trying to do as everyone else.
Aspmama is correct, as long as you take levothyroxine away from food and you're certainly doing that it will be absorbed properly. Are you having a varied diet, even if eating once daily? It is very important our vitamins/minerals are towards the upper range. Lots of people eat one meal daily and have a couple of snacks. I always leave 4 hours apart from levo if I take supplements or other medications. Some leave only 2 hours.
Has your GP checked your vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate. These are all essential and if you've not had them checked ask GP next time as these can be deficient anyway.
Your main purpose is to feel well and the GP to prescribe an optimum of medication for you. If you take levo in the morning and are having a blood test, don't eat anything before it, take it afterwards. Get a print-out from the surgery, if you don't do already, with the ranges and post them if you have a query.
Thank you for your reply. I will take them first thing in morning.
I 'choose' not to eat/hard to understand. I've had therapy today and discussed self care /compassion / love/ empathy for myself, but unfortunately I do not have any of that,,, a work in progress as I make sure my children and partner eat a well balanced meal!!!
My iron, thyroid, Vit D and folate all low, my doctor only working on Vit D and thyroid at the moment.
You must get your B12 tested. I would say that's the most important one because if that's low, permenant damage can occur. Please do insist on having that one tested.
Oh, and I do understand the 'chosing not to eat' bit.
Had it tested along with the "full blood count" it reads
Serum vit B12 317 ng/L (170-700).
But I think my folate is low
5.2 ug/L (4.6-18.7)
Think I will give it 8 weeks and just order a retest of bloods and make an appointment and make an appintment afterwards to see the doctor as I have slept every single night and 4 hours a day, still not enough sleep.
Your B12 is too low! Dangerously low. Anything Under 500 can cause irreversable nerve damage. Optimal is 1000.
You should be supplementing with about 7000 mcg sublingual methylcobalamin daily. And taking a B complex to keep the Bs balanced. Doctors think that anything 'in range' is 'fine', but they are so, so wrong!
Oh, your doctor won't do anything about it, for him, you're in range, so all is well with the world! They just Don't live on the same planet as us! lol
Yup, buy what I recommended above and treat yourself. You can get it on Amazon. It's the only way.
