I know a lot of you have or had lumps in your throat. I've had one on the bottom right hand side of my throat for ages now. I've had it checked by ENT and he didn't seem worried but over the past couple of weeks it's seems to have gotten bigger. Like swollen? It's not hard it's cushiony. Is this normal? What is it?

Lump in throat. Really worried!
Sounds like you may have a goiter .i had a swelling on my left side and my ENT wasn't worried until it started to affect my breathing which was a year after my first appointment with him. now had it removed February this year.So much better now .
Muffin, it sounds like a goitre which may be a little inflamed/swollen. Try not to prod and poke, you'll make it painful. Do you know whether you have Hashimoto's antibodies?
What does it mean? Is it eating my thyroid lol? It hurts a bit where the lump is like a sore throat at one side
Muffin, kind of. Hashi's can inflame the thyroid and kill off cells in the early days. It should settle down after a while and the inflammation will die down. Take a painkiller if it is very uncomfortable. Eventually Hashi's atrophies the thyroid until it is a small fibrous mass unable to produce hormone.
Thanks. Like I say lumps and stuff freak me out a lot. And because it's bigger and sore feels like a real sore throat but only at the side the lump is. Weird
