Amssmith, your TSH is in the low normal range and FT4 is half way through range. It doesn't indicate low thyroid but it is worth asking for another thyroid test in 6-12 months. Sore, swollen thyroid can be due to a virus. If it doesn't improve in 3 months ask for an ultrasound scan to look at the thyroid gland and ask for thyroid peroxidase and thyroglobulin antibodies to be tested to rule out autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's).
VitD18 is deficient. How much vitD3 have you been prescribed?
I have 800ui prescribed my sister has hashimoto I have had nodules removed in past so always have sore throat but this is different I have been given strong penicillin for 2 weeks then she said she will refer me to endocrinology x
Amssmith, You've had nodules removed from your thyroid or throat?
800iu is not sufficient and will take forever to correct your deficiency. You can buy vitD3 online and over the counter. I'd recommend 10,000iu for 6 weeks to boost levels and then reduce to 5,000iu and retest vitD in 6 months.
My mother and sister have Graves but I had Hashimoto's. Ask for thyroid antibodies to be tested. This is the only way to rule out or confirm autoimmune thyroid disease.
