Annette, TSH and FT4 are ok if you're feeling well. If not ask for a dose increase to push up your FT4 which isn't halfway through range. Read Dr. Toft's comments in Treatment Options in the link below.

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...

If you think the full article might persuade your GP to raise your dose email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org.uk and ask for a copy of the Pulse article.

Ferritin is low. Optimal is half way through range. Supplement iron and take each tablet with 500mg-1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption and mitigate constipation.

B12 and folate are good.

Thank you Clutter. Last time I spoke to you my TSH was 2.79 and T4 21.6 and didn't feel well at all. I asked for increase but doc refused but said he would test to check if TSH had gone any higher. It seems to have come down by itself no idea how. It has been fluctuating up and down this last few mths. I don't feel so bad now.

Thanks for replying. Doc wont increase dose. Usual story your in range. Do you know why my numbers could be fluctuating this last few mths? Im perimenooausal aswel. Maybe if ferretin levels get higher it might settle.

Annette, perimenopausal hormones may be causing TSH fluctuations.

Was thinking that Clutter. Oh the joys no fun at all.!!!!

The menopause can upset hormone balances enormously annette12.

Also have you been checked for thyroid antibodies as these can cause flutuating hormone levels?

Yes thought that aswel. Hormones all over the place lol. Yes I have Hashimotos and had blood tests to show perimenopause.

in reply toannette12

Me too. Now is the time to practice all that stuff we read about healthy life style keeping antibody count low, inflamation down and hormones balanced.

Very true for sure. I have so many deficiencies its hard to know what symptoms are coming from what. Menopause added to that is a minefield lol. I live in a household full of men so I don't get much sympathy. My sons just roll their eyes lol.

Lol. Yes my family do that too.
