Your TSH being above range with FT4 within normal range means you are subclinically hypothyroid. If you have hypothyroid symptoms (see link below) your GP can prescribe Levothyroxine but some insist on waiting until the patient is overtly hypothyroid with TSH >10 and FT4 below range. You may want to see a different doctor for a second opinion if this is the case.
