Buying t3

Hi can anyone tell me if you can buy t3 over the counter in Greece and if so what do you ask for thank you in advance 😋

Weebella, Uni-Pharma is the Greek T3. Allow at least 48 hours for the pharmacy to order in stock.

T3 as a medicine is usually called liothyronine. Google translate makes that

λειοθυρονίνη.

(You could print that out and take it with you. I'd expect any Greek pharmacist to understand the English version - but maybe not every Greek pharmacy assistant.)

Start collecting at the beginning of your stay as they usually only stock a few packs but will happily order in. They are the most helpful people in pharmacies in Greece - they cannot do enough to help. Theeroyd - is the way to pronounce Thyroid....and when asking for T3 I was once offered Tea Tree Oil

Also if you are wanting a B12 injection - you can buy them over the counter and have them done around the back of the counter - absolutely NO problem. 3 phials of B12 and syringes is around 5 euro Body awareness rarely exists in Greece .....

Do you get any makes of levothyroxine or liothyronine other than Uni-pharma? (Just trying to get a picture of how things are - not basing any decisions on your answer. )

Yes Merck was the T4 I was taking initially. There are others which I have not explored. They will order in whatever is available with the wholesalers. I could find out for you if you wish

If you can easily find out what is regularly available - that is, what people might come across by dropping into a pharmacy rather than any form of special order - yes please. I think it would be good for us to have a list of such things for places outside the UK.

It would be really reassuring to know that this information was available - there is a constant background worry that the GP practice might say they're not prescribing T3 any more on NHS
