Hi, I have been informed by my doctor I cannot get t3 anymore in uk as it is so expensive. Please can anyone let me know how to buy this abroad. Greece maybe, but how do I logistically go about it, and where in Greece?

Those members who have knowledge will respond to you by Private Message as no info is permitted on the Open Forum as it is a prescription medication.

It is a great disappointment when T3 has been withdrawn. There is a Petition which most of us on this forum have signed - hopefully some good will come out of it.

Hi, thank you for your reply, I'm new to this, how would I get a private message ? My direct email I gave when signing up? Or what would I look for. Thank you

Richardhall1,

I would write to your GP (cc your MP) and tell your GP that you believe your GP is in breach of GMS contract by with-drawing treatment you have been told you need and which suits you. Say you have been well on Liothyronine and wish to continue taking it. Attach the BTA guidance for patients and GPs.

The BTA issued guidance that patients doing well on T3 should not have their prescriptions with-drawn. See FAQS for patients and GPs in british-thyroid-association...

CCGs do not have the authority to tell GPs what not to prescribe. Individual GPs, not CCGs, could be found in breach of the General Medical Services contract if they do not prescribe treatment patients have been told "they need".

bmj.com/content/358/bmj.j36...

The GPC has warned that GPs would be in breach of the GMS contract and could get into legal trouble by following the orders and refusing to prescribe patients treatments they have told them they need.

gponline.com/gpc-warning-ig...

If your CCG has instructed your GP to withdraw Liothyronine (T3) from prescribing ask what consultation was implemented to guage the impact on patients. If there was no consultation the CCG will be in breach of guidelines.

Could someone please PM me with order details of T3. I have seen that some online sources are not reliable and therefore don’t want to be caught out.
