Can anyone tell me where I can buy Vit K and a high dose Vit B12 please.

Would Vit K also be Potassium?

I cannot find either of these in the local stores.

I think it is unlikely you need vitamin K, unless you have some form of clotting disorder.

You might want vitamin K2 though, which is not the same as vitamin K.

Potassium is also different from vitamins K and K2.

If I understand it correctly, taking vitamin D supplements increases your calcium levels. The vitamin K2 will help the calcium go where it is needed - into the bones. Is that what you were thinking of?

Yes you are quite right, that's the one as I am supplementing Vit D.

I only asked about Potassium as I remember the periodic table from school and Potassium being K on the chart, lol.

Mrs forgetful could be my other name :-)

Vitamin K is NOT potassium. (Potassium has the chemical symbol K but that comes from its Latin name of Kalium.)

Further, there are two vitamins K - K1 and K2. Often, if you see only "K" it is K1. I suspect you want K2 - which often comes combined with vitamin D.

What form of vitamin B12 do you want? Be careful you get the appropriate form - e.g. methylcobalamin.

Are you sure of what you want?

It is usually easier and cheaper to buy on-line. You could start by using Google or Amazon to find what is available. Other sellers are available and may well be less expensive.

Helvella, yes it is methylcobalamin I am looking for, and of course, K2. I forgot Vit K came in two types. I had a feeling it wasn't potassium but see my above reply, lol. Thanks for the tip about buying online, I will google.

It is well worth checkingout iherb.com as they can be economical even with postage from USA, customs, etc.

I buy my B12 and K2 from Amazon - there's a link on the TUK site - if you do it through that TUK get a little commission.

I take Life Extension Super K which is mostly K2 with a bit of K1 and I use Jarrows sublingual B12 (Methylcobalamin ) 5000mcg

I was looking at Life Extension Super K and wasn't sure if that was ok. Looks as if it is. I'll order some and I had already read somewhere else that Jarrows was good so that looks like the favourite too.

Thanks, Barb

HI Vit K is not potassium. Potassium is extremely dangerous and must only be taken in specific circumstances , under a GP with weekly blood tests. Food is OK.K also may be dangerous depending on your medical circumstances.

It's ok Jackie, I was half joking when I posted that but it was just the coincidence. I need the Vit K2 while I am taking Vit D to send the calcium to my bones and not other tissues. :-)

I understand vit K best (and safer)) if absorbed from food . Best source gouda cheese but there are others. Google for info

Apparently it's not enough, but thanks.

Vit B12 is available from lots of places like Amazon. Get the sublingual B12 if you can, it absorbs much better under the tongue than in the stomach.
