Quick question. How long does it take for Vit D to hit your system, any ideas?
My Dr suggested I double my dose as it’s a bit on the low side so I’m taking 4000iu with Vit K 2 MK-7.
I’ve done this for a week and I’ve just noticed my muscles aren’t aching so much and I’ve got a little more energy. Wondering if it’s the Vit D or psychological, not that I’m too bothered either way 😂.

Back in 2006 I had my gallbladder removed. It was different in that it contains only calcium stones. I was given a Vitamin d test and it was the lowest it could be. I then started on taking Vitamin D , plus K2. It took about a year to reach my perfect level. I now take 5000iu twice a week which keeps it topped up nicely. Everyone is different it does take time and I think that you are already noticing the benefits.
Thank you for your reply, I didn’t realise how little I’d been topping up and how much was safe to take. Also interesting that just twice a week is possible as I find it tricky some days to fit everything into the timeframe. Once my levels are up I shall try that. 🥰
I take mine on Tuesday's and Saturday's. You might laugh but when I was little my Mother was so overprotective and I never sun bathed or even went out in the sun much.
I used to stay with an Aunt for some of the summer holidays and the first thing she would say to me was ( Take that cardigan off ) I was adopted so hence my Mother's overprotection.
You probably have lovely skin thanks to your mum 😂
We do much the same now really, my grandson is slathered in factor 50 sun cream and a sun suit when on the beach. Whilst I realise this is good I do think it has it’s own problems.
Exactly I was the same I had very dark brown hair and fair skin. It was therefore, a shock when I had my daughter who is a red head. When I was in my fifties I met my birth mother only to discover that she also had the red hair, Welsh. My niece is also a red head. The trouble is you don't want them to burn but also Vitamin D is lacking which can form problems later on.
Joant24, I think feeling an effect within a week certainly makes sense. A bit like going on holiday to a sunshiny place when you've been cooped up over the British winter for months. By the end of your first week sunbathing on the beach, you feel so much better than when you arrived. Surely that's got a lot to do with raising your vit D levels. It's not just the de-stressing aspect. ☀️😎🏖️
