0.58 is this really in the normal range ?

Gp results today appointment in 2 weeks is 0.58 really normal i think its too low i take 100mg levothyroxine still tired and weak trouble sleeping lump in throat gp is not supportive nearly seen all in the practise commments appreciated

If you are quoting your TSH result. I think it's fine. It might suit you more and make you feel an improvement if your GP adds some T3. If you email [e-mail] and ask for a copy of the Pulse online article by Dr Toft and read question 6 and discuss it with your GP.

P.S. some of us need a suppressed TSH to feel better. Of course, we need T4 to convert to sufficient T3 too. I assume your GP hasn't given you a Free T3 blood test. This is a link and cursor down to Free T3.

If GP won't get you a full set of tests get them done privately through Blue Horizon- info on TUK. I would strongly suggest you need to get your TPO antibodies checked out and als Vit B12, Vit D, ferritin, folate and iron levels. If they are low you won't use the Leveo effectively and also try taking some Vit C as well. I live in the frozen wastes of N Yorks and have had to DIY, NHS no use to me!

Hi many thanks - i already take vit d as prescribed by gp ( as well as vitamins and iron and selenium - by me) I will ask for full tests again and lets see !!!

Why do you think it's too low, Karen? It's probably in range, but meaningless. It's your FT4 and FT3 that need testing. The TSH tells you very little about your thyroid status. But how do you feel? If you feel good, then it's right for you. If you feel bad then you need further testing. The amount of levo you're taking is rarely reflected in the TSH.

If you are taking thyroxine, then you should have your FT4 tested. I also think your TSH levels are fine.
