Graves levels not stabilising

Hi

Re post Tuesday here are my blood results

TSH 2.09 range. 0.30-5.50

T3. 4.3. Range. 0.0- 7.0

T4. 14.0. Range. 11.5- 22.7

They seem to be going in right direction should I feel well with these results

If so must be something else going on.

Your TSH is still on the high side. Most of us feel better with a TSH of around 1, some need to be lower or suppressed. GPs are apt to be happy if our TSH is 'in range' but we are to be treated till we feel well (many GPs don't understand that unfortunately). Your T3 is mid range and it could be higher. I think your GP should raise your dose and if you've been on levo for a while, he could try adding 10mcg of T3.

Blood tests don't inform us of how well the patient is feeling, so the best way to judge is how you are 'feeling'.

Someone who has Graves should respond as I am hypo.

Hi Ali

Are you still on 35mg carbimazole ? If you are, I would think it needs reducing. This should ideally be done by titrating 5mg at a time and then blood tests 6weeks later. 35mg is a very high dose with your levels.
