Is this another one that people with Hashis seem to get, I have suffered with these boils for years since puberty and so has my grown up son, is there a connection any one know?

I know boils are a hypothyroid symptom I suffered dreadfully with them and mouth ulcers (and a shed load more symptoms) but will look these up to find out more.....I hope they resolve. Levo improved mine and I swapped to NDT which has kept them at bay too. I am gluten free and veggie - bar the NDT. Vitamin deficiencies may exacerbate the situation.

I had a look on line it looks to be very unpleasant. I could find no evidence directly linking it to hypothyroidism although there statements saying it is linked and it is an autoimmune condition. I notice Embarrassing Bodies tv programme want sufferers to help with research at this link:

Mmm - so that's the catch - you'd need some nerve to star in that programme! I must admit I admire those that do, I guess they get top treatment for free.

I noticed one site said lazer treatment for hair removal seems to help - beard and boils zapped in one (could use a bit of that, I am tugging dally with tweezers in the battle of the beard that I seem doomed to loose). Although radiation therapy appears to be effective it is not offered because of cancer risks later on.

Pity no one else has responded with more info on the topic.

After having this problem for years and getting nowhere with my local hospital I asked my GP to refer me to another hospital and they then got me to see a dermatologist who prescribed me lymesycline and have not seen another boil/access since.

Hi Flossy, I have gone Paleo and cut out all carbs and sugars, also wash with Hibiscrub and have not had any problems for a while now.

I will remember your advice if I get anymore, am glad you are ok now .

Cheers, the tablets lymesycline are used to treat acne.

Keep well x
