A recent TSH was 2.5 and doc didn't do fT4. I have the tremors and palpitations on exertion. I would say this is an indication of too much circulating T4. Am I safe to cut down on my thyroxine at a TSH of 2.4 without causing probs like fatigue. In fact I get tired now - could that be effects of too much T4 as well?

I've just been cut down from 100 to 75 eltroxin by my endo yesterday my t4 was 24 and I have tremors also my TSH was 1.030 endo said too much T4 in my system hope this helps you there are plenty of people here to advise you know much more than myself. They won't put you wrong. Hope your tremors ease soon.
Although most hypo folk tend to need a little less hormone in summer months, your TSH still indicates you are hypo.
Iron, for one thing, is needed for T4 conversion, Vit D/calcium can cause tremor etc. - perhaps check the usual fab five vital minerals are optimised. (Magnesium & Selenium are needed too) J
You cannot dose on TSH alone. You need to see your FT4 - and preferably your FT3. But with a TSH of 2.4 I very much doubt that you are over-medicated. The tremours and fatigue are more likely to be due to not enough T4.
