Armour

I have just picked up my first supply of Armour. Other than taking it 1/2 hr before breakfast is there anything else I should know/do. So excited about starting to feel better. I have to take DHEA and hydrocortisone cream on awakening - busy morning!

Thanks SSE106, I will. But first have to find out how Armour might react to the 4 other things I have to take before breakfast! Am doing some research before taking the 1st dose. Frustrating, but needs to be done. The phamacist was no help when I picked up the prescription.

Your doctor or whoever prescribed it might have told you to substitute the dosage from levo to NDT, DO NOT!! Your body will be in shock if you do because in NDT there are more hormones than just T4. Start on a low dose and build up over a couple of months, I could not believe I was on such a small dose and actually felt BETTER!!! I take mine last thing at night my stomach is completely empty then.

Thanks Glynisrose. No-one has mentioned taking it at night, sounds like a good idea as long as it doesnt interfere with sleep? I havnt had any thyroid medication before so am starting completely new on Armour.

Thanks Sparerib, I've read all the posts and altho I have to take vit C and melatonin at night I think I'll work around starting the Armour at night. If it helps ,me to sleep then I wont need the melatonin.
