As I have to have my caffeine fix in a morning to get me going I have been taking my Armour at night, not sure if this is ok. Because if I take in a morning I have to wait an hour before my fix. At the moment I have to much T3 so lowering my dosage. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Is it morning or night.

Armour
Whatever is best for you. Trial and error trying different times is the only way to find out what works best for you, I take NDT at bedtime.
Yes that’s ok then it’s just that I have been taking statins at bedtime too, which is not advisable as well as taking Armour at night. Although my statins say take at night it is actually one that can be taken in the day, so moving that to morning now. Thanks
If you 'need' to take a statin, it's doubtful that your T3 is too high. When did you last have both cholesterol and FT3 tested?
Last week
And both cholesterol and FT3 are high?
Serum free triiodothyronine level 8.2 (3.5-6.5)
Serum free T4 18 (9.0-23.0)
Serum TSH level 0.02 (0.25-5.0)
My cholesterol is only slightly over
Do you have Hashi's?
Even if your cholesterol is slightly over, it's not a problem. It doesn't cause heart attacks or strokes, it won't kill you. But the statins might. And they really are not recommended for hypos. They will lower your sex hormones, which isn't a very good idea, given that you are already hormonally challenged with the hypo. Have you ever read the book 'The Great Cholesterol Con' but Dr Malcolm Kendrick? He also has a blog, and he talks a lot of sense about the idiocy of trying to lower cholesterol. And, do you know that doctors get financial incentives for prescribing statins? Something to thing about, isn't it.
Well, my 2 cents worth on this topic is that it is the T3 in NDT which makes you feel good. T3 only has a half life of about 8 hours so why would you waste it sleeping? As far as the T4 (in NDT) goes it doesn't matter when you take it since it hangs around about a week. So my vote is "morning", take it when you get up to pee close to dawn, then go back to sleep. That way you will not feel deprived of your coffee fix.
That is more or less what I do since I too am totally useless before I have had my tea and toast - although I have to feed the animals first and that bums me out no end.
I like your style. Lol I am up & down to the loo in the night and only sleep about 3 to 4 hours. I wake up extremely early so I will try taking then and wait an hour before coffee. Thanks
I noticed you said to a lady that if her T3 is high she should loss weight, mine is high but my serum TSH level is low. My gp has just reduced my Armour now, to try to help. I just don't understand what ever I do I never lose weight just get fatter. I just don't understand this illness the more I read the more confused I get. My readings are serum free triiodothyroine level 8.2 and my serum TSH level 0.02
Yes, sadly the increase in weight when having a thyroid problem is one of the big mysteries. You definitely need high T3 but there are obviously other factors. I spent a year on diet and exercise (combine with high T3 - but not too high because it sends my blood pressure up) and I succeeded in losing 20 lbs. For about two months I looked great. But then I felt so deprived of normal food and so exhausted from the exercise that I couldn't keep it up, and piled on the weight, in a mere 2 months I put on all the weight again. Maybe when I get the time and energy I will start researching this problem and experiment on myself - and let you know! For what it is worth I did ask my current Endo, who is a clever guy, I am lucky to have him, he looked at me sadly, shook his head and said he didn't know.
