On the basis that Actavis own the company that makes Armour AND the one that makes the Actavis brand of levothyroxine, looks to me as if their bread is handsomely buttered and jammed regardless which is available to us. They might make more if Armour were more readily available - its price is always much higher than levothyroxine to us in the UK.
The reason for Armour prices rising appears to have been disease in the USA pig population. (However, it is unclear how RLC have not pushed up the prices of their products such as Nature-Throid, at least not as much.)
Hi I have always found Springfield, London ,by post the cheapest and efficient. Phone their dedicated line Mon, Tues, Thurs or Frid 10am to 12noon...0208 255 09
I always obtained my from Tollesbury Pharmacy near Manchester, great quick service, if i posted prescription on Monday i ihad them by Wednesday! The Pharmacist there is really helpful, if you need to speak to him for a quote, unfortunately can't remember contact details - you could google them x
Alternatively you could get Thyroid S off the internet, its MUCH cheaper and you can get it off 2 of the major online shopping websites, I got mine from the same place I buy my kindle books : )
You could try the Canadian site <site identifier> where it can be obtained with a prescription. The Armour is currently out of stock but they have Erfa and all sorts of other brands. These other brands are also cheaper than Armour.
I recently obtained mine from a compounding chemist here in Australia - $100 for 150 tablets (60mg) made to the Armour specifications, which seems a lot cheaper than your UK quote but I don't think they do international orders.
Do you have compounding pharmacies in the UK?
Good luck, Jayne
