Heat Intolerance
I can't advise how to deal with it as I'm struggling myself but just wanted to say I feel your pain!! I'm bloating horrendously at the moment, I'm sweating, I feel weak and I am soooo tired. I'm assuming it's intolerance to the heat. What symptoms are you getting? I prefer suffering with the cold I think than the effects the hot humid weather has!!
I dropped my T4 dose a couple of weeks ago as the heat made me so uncomfortable although I was barely sweating. It was the tingling electric shocks in my hands and arms that drove me crazy. Today I'm cold with a sweatshirt and thick bed socks on
I sometimes reduce my levo dose (100mcg) by 25mcg on alternate days if I am on holiday and it is very warm. I love sun and dry heat but hate humidity.
Today in cloud covered Yorkshire I wouldn't have my shower until I had put the heating on and warmed up the bathroom. I have been feeling very sleepy today and put it down to the cooler weather. I hate winter!
I can tolerate the heat but not the humidity. It makes me feel very lightheaded and dizzy. I am fine when I am abroad as although you get the heat I haven't had the extreme humidity.
I have Hashimoto's and I feel your pain. I sit in the house most of the time with the air conditioner on. I feel so confined, but if I go outside I am miserable. I love the cold in the winter. I just bundle up and am perfectly comfortable. A friend of mine, who is a runner, recommended these neck wraps that you can soak in cold water for 20 minutes and then wrap around your neck. This seems to help a little when I have to be outside for any period of time during the summer.
