Hi all ive always loved the sun and warm weather and today i decided to sit out in the garden and top up my tan-well 40 mins later i was in the shade, i could not stick it out any further!! Slight heart palps and pulse racing but im also on a dose change so that always affects me too, so off i went in the shade which was fantastic but just sitting there in very hot sun , no!! Anyone else out there who just does not tolerate the heat like they used to after having thyroid disease, i was hyper last year and still currently on titration carbi but you regular guys know my story. 🌟🌟

I don't tolerate the heat at all. I am lucky that my house has an awning (courtesy of previous owners ;) ) which I use on days such as this, I sit underneath that, never in the sun.

My gadget mad son bought me one of those inside/outside thermometers. On my patio, under the awning, the temperature is 26.4C in the shade and I've had to come inside as it's making me feel very unwell. In the sun the temperature is 36C and climbing. I'm now inside where it's nice and cool :)

I think sitting out in it will be a no for me when its baking🌞but im ok walking out in it, at the moment im in a lovely spot in the garden just sipping a cuppa-heaven. Keep cool SS.xx

I do not tolerate the cold or the heat. Due to not being able to get much sleep lately, I am finding it rather more difficult putting up with the hot weather. I cannot stand it, when it is hot and humid.

Oh no hot and cold poor you! I hope you can find a happy medium, that sounds a real pain in the neck.xx

I prefer dealing with cold weather. The option is always there to add layers of clothing. Humidity is tough to cope with. Going from one temperature environment to a rather different one is interesting. My body seems to not cope well with the transition. I can suddenly get really sweaty even if I have gone from a hot place to a cooler one; such as getting on a train with air conditioning.

You see i tan quite easily but i think it is all down to being sensible in the sun now and not making ourselves feel worse because of the sun-my days of gas mark 7 roasting in the sun are over. 😊

Oh dear! I'm still wearing a fleece indoors and out. I did considering taking the fleece off yesterday, but didn't in the end.

Oh my god-i would have passed out by now-there is more of a breeze today, im having lunch outside under the umbrella and will have a little 20 mins in the sun.xx

Hi Michelle - yep have had reaction to sitting in the sun - that is a side effect of a drug I'm taking. After a recommendation for buying swim wear to cover top to toe for sunlight, eventually found a new website and have a super top and bottom, made of swimwear material which dries quickly. Have been swimming every day several weeks ago for he first time in years, feeling more comfortable with history of skin cancer! Thanks for your help.

Great about the swimwear and yes we have to be careful of skin cancer, bet you feel great now you can go swimming a lot. 😊😊

Bought another swim outfit for my daughter as she went to Spain last year and had some new moles on her back. It feels a bit odd being covered from head to toe as we all like to enjoy the sun but hubby says I look really slim now. I nearly gave up as love all those foods such as cream and cheese, but your encouragement really helps. Am down to 14 size, and bought some new clothes. Had some time to get eye treatment for blepharitis, with a diagnostic for the crusts and mites on eyelids - and a descale like for teeth on eyelids. Am going to have my cataracts done sometime soon as was getting panic attacks round the supermarkets seeing blurred figures in artificial lighting. If you could help test out the private message service it would be good as I am no good with computers and can't use it.

Oh no panick attacks are horrid as I know too well, hey my mum has had blepharitis she uses baby shampoo, interested to know about this treatment you have had? Does your pm work?

• in reply toRmichelle

yep - the treatment has worked- my dry sore eyes are better. The mites have affected the eyelashes. So today the optician removed 7 eyelashes.

Not many opticians have the special training or the equipment to detect the

mites - or to clear them. It was a bit like a beauty treatment along the eyelids

or having teeth descaled. Not at all painful. I never realised the NHS treatment is not effective. The pm did not work - as nothing has come up on my chat box

but found my new e mail address was not linked to my new user name.

Is the sun still with you as it has been cooler here. So glad I have a bit of time to reply to your texts. The kids and tidying up before my family and grandchildren

come to stay for a week has been strenuous. Hope all is well with you and family.
