My GP has given me the request form for a blood test. She has ticked for Thyroid and also for Full Blood Count (FBC) and Electrolytes. Do either of the last 2 cover Iron or B12 or VitD or will I need to get that added on to the form by the surgery (GP away on hols now)?

Hi none of those cover B12 or iron the esr tells whether you have inflammation anywhere in your you will have to ask to have B12, vitamin D, ferritin and folate put on the form.

Take care

Some people just add their own ticks to these forms!

Nooo surely not - what a good idea - I wish I had read your reply before I walked all the way to the surgery only for the receptionist to write it on the form. Hmmm now what else can I put on there!!
