Over ruled my surgery, raised my thyroxine, I have felt much better... BUT was told to continue with Vit D, C, and iron. Why don't GPs prescribe all this? I can only get Iron on prescription? I'm due for a blood test as feeling unwell again, but getting fed up with 'free for life prescription' that DON'T include everything I need.
Great private Endo has made a massive differenc... - Thyroid UK
Great private Endo has made a massive difference. As I expected.

That's really good news that you have a good Endo and hope he gets you well. It does take time and he might eventually even add some T3 to your T4 but maybe wait a little while till he gets to know you better.
any chance your wonderful endo is anywhere near Yorkshire?
She is in Hale, Cheshire, Dr Mukherjee. Spire Hospitals. I am signed off now with her as it is getting expensive, but she has written to my GP and stated where I am up to. Unfortunately my Thyroid will pack in soon and I will need full meds - that's scary when the GPs only work within the range ... and not any symptoms.
doctors are only trained to treat symptoms, rarely do they look beyond to see what is causing the problem. They certainly don't get any training in nutrition i.e what Vits and minerals the body needs to stay healthy. They say a proper diet will provide everything!! They ignore the fact that a lot of people have low Iodine (recent report on effect on child's IQ) low Selenium (due to modern farming and food processing methods) and low many other things! They confuse diets (low calorie/low fat) with Nutrition, giving your body everything it needs to function properly. They are won over by all the bumf that the Pharmas dish out and the free meals! Sorry for the rant. The only way to improve your health is to take matters into your own hands and unfortunately it costs money. Spatone is good if you need to up your Iron, no nasty side effects. Have you had B12 and folate checked too? hope things improve
... or even further north?

Thanks PoppyRose I've made a note. Cheshire is good and only a couple of hours away.
Yes it was just an hour for me but was worth it. Good luck, hope it suits you. GP tried to diagnose me with Depression, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome ... then tried the Menopause. Neither of which dealt with the fact I was on too low a dose of Thyroxine! Often the case I believe. The consultant saw through this.
